WHY STEM AWARENESS MATTERS

Due to a lack of STEM resources in the U.S. education system, many students from underrepresented or rural communities may miss out on potential educational experiences and opportunities. This ultimately leads to a smaller percentage of minority students pursuing a career in the STEM field.

In 2024, the STEM Education Guide published an article discussing the discrepancies in STEM demographics. Statistics show that Black American workers remain a small percentage (9%) of the STEM workforce. Along with ethnic minority groups, women of all groups hold very small percentages in these fields as well.

THE CAUSE & EFFECT

In order to produce more diverse candidates in STEM fields, we must start by increasing the following resources:

#1 STEM Awareness
